Abdominal Visceral Massage

Abdominal Visceral Massage assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, respiratory, digestive and lymphatic mobilization. It is based on the specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues.

Active & Passive Isolated Stretching

Active Isolated Stretching (AIS) is a technique that helps clients stretch more effectively by eliminating the stretch reflex. Passive isolated stretching is when the client remains in a relaxed state as the isolated muscle is being stretched. It can be hard in our daily life to take the time needed to attend to our body and stretch for the proper amounts of time. As therapists we can work with the client and use breathing techniques to increase range of motion and assist in holding the stretch for the proper amount of time needed to gain the benefits.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils from herbs or flowers for their curative properties.

CBD Oil Massage Therapy

CBD oil is gaining mainstream acceptance, as study after study shows its efficacy in providing relief to those suffering from pain and anxiety. It's also been shown to provide benefit when used to address the symptoms of long-term disabilities like Parkinson's Disease. Because of all these advantageous effects, the sale and use of CBD oil is ever increasing—but many people still don't know that much about it.

Chair Massage

On-site chair massage is a cost effective way of enhancing and improving your energy and all-around performance. We offer 15 - 20 minute seated massage in our studio, your workplace, and at events, performed on an ergonomically designed portable massage chair.

Couples Massage

There’s no hard and fast rule that says a couples massage has to be strictly for couples. Share in the experience of receiving a relaxing or therapeutic massage in the same room at the same time. Reserve a dual massage with your mother, your boyfriend, best friend or anyone who might feel more comfortable for their first massage.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a natural pain relief technique used for treatment of chronic pain, menopause, menstrual discomfort, PMS, back pain, pelvic pain, scoliosis, TMJ, headache, anxiety, emotional difficulties, depression, stress, fibromyalgia, the effects of Multiple Sclerosis symptoms and many other conditions.

Customized & Combination Massage

Combination or Custom massage sessions may incorporate a variety of modalities or techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, reflexology, Reiki, myofascial release, stretching, and range of motion to arrive at a treatment that is totally individualized to each client and reflects the uniqueness of each therapist.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue always has a goal. It is used on ailments like chronic pain, recovery from injuries, limited mobility, postural problems and muscle tension or spasm, among others.

Energy Healing

Energy Healing and Energy Work have been in existence for thousands of years in traditional cultures and is gaining prevalence in the West. What affects you physically and emotionally also affects your energy field. Changes and imbalance can be detected and cleared by a skilled energy healer before you get sick. Energy healing is a complementary modality that supports medical treatment or a personal wellness plan. At Eye Street Massage Therapy we offer Reiki, Brennan Energy Healing and Qi Gong.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat is deeply relaxing, helping to warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) uses a hands-on technique that involves gentle stretching and release of tissue to help the lymphatic system function more efficiently. A properly functioning lymphatic system is critical to our body’s ability to drain stagnant fluids, detoxify, regenerate/heal tissue, filter out toxins and foreign substances, and maintain a healthy immune system.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy uses massage and stretching of muscle and fascia (connective tissue) as well as slow, controlled joint mobilization, to improve bio-mechanical elasticity; decrease pain; increase range of motion; reduce soft tissue inflammation; improve tissue repair, extensibility and/or stability; facilitate movement, and improve function. In short, it can improve mobility in areas that are restricted; in joints, in connective tissues or in skeletal muscles. Manual therapy can be helpful in addressing or preventing chronic pain issues from developing.

Medical Massage

Chronic pain can begin with injury, illness or even stress, each element amplifying the other and creating a self-perpetuating cycle. Medical massage at Eye Street Massage Therapy is performed with the intent of improving conditions that have been diagnosed by a physician. It can relieve muscle tension, reduce nerve pressure, increase circulation, release trigger points, and restore movement.

Myofacial Release

To understand this brand of therapy it is important to know what the fascia is. The fascia, is the outer layer of the Myofascia which covers the muscles but is under the skin. Fascia is similar to tendons and ligaments in that they are all connective tissue and are made of collagen. Myofascial release is quite relaxing in itself as the process is quite gentle. Myofascial release therapy focuses on “unsticking” places where the fascia is stuck or glued to relieve the tension and guide the muscles into their proper place.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular therapy is used to reduce chronic pain and normalize body posture by selectively loosening tight muscles and connective tissue. It is effective for many soft tissue pain problems including back and neck pain, headaches including migraines, hip and shoulder pain, numbness and tingling in the arms or legs, and the soft tissue aspects of fibromyalgia syndrome.

Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic Massage is a form of rehabilitative massage that addresses physical problems often accompanied by acute or chronic pain, nagging discomfort, postural issues and/or limited mobility. Orthopedic Massage focuses on restoring pain-free range of motion throughout the body and integrating complete structural balance. Special attention is given to correct assessment of the problem, proper treatment and client self-care.

Expectant women go through a variety of different muscle issues due to the extra weight they carry. Back pain, leg pain, sore feet and muscle cramps are all standard issues for mothers to be and constant strain can lead to stress which is bad for the baby.

Postnatal Massage

The weight of carrying your most precious cargo can be stressful on your muscles; let Eye Street Massage Therapy take care of you while you take care of your child. Expectant women go through a variety of different muscle issues due to the extra weight they carry. Back pain, leg pain, sore feet and muscle cramps are all standard issues for mothers to be and constant strain can lead to stress which is bad for the baby.

Reflexology

Reflexology, or zone therapy, is a complementary modality that is based on the principle that every organ, gland, and body part corresponds to a reflex point on the feet, hands, or ears. A reflex point is every point that you press that corresponds to an organ, gland or body part. By applying pressure on reflex areas on the hands, feet, or ears, reflexology opens up circulatory and lymphatic pathways, brings balance to the nervous system, and enhances deep relaxation.

Reiki Healing

Reiki, also known as palm healing, is a Japanese healing technique which focuses on balancing the energy in a body. It involves the transfer of “universal energy” through the practitioner to the patient to improve the body’s natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is designed for the physically active and combines various techniques including deep tissue, range of motion, stretching and resistance work. Depending on the sport you will be playing there are different areas to treat both pregame and postgame. Sports massage can help prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, to relieve swelling, to reduce muscle tension, to promote flexibility and to prevent injuries.

Swedish or Relaxation Massage

Swedish massage is what most people mean when they use the general term massage. It is one of the most relaxing types of massage to receive and is often used for a full-body session although your massage therapist can focus on specific problem areas. It promotes general relaxation, improves circulation and range of motion, and relieves muscle tension.

Trigger Point Therapy & Positional Release

Trigger point therapy involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. If you have ever massaged a person or been massaged yourself then you have probably came across trigger points. They are commonly known as muscle knots; the often painful spots where muscles seem to be clumped together in a tight little ball.
